McQueen

Alexander McQueen’s legacy endures as a powerful force in fashion. His work continues to inspire designers across the world, reshaping how we view clothing — not merely as fabric and form, but as an expressive art that challenges convention and reveals emotion. Through his exploration of identity, trauma, and strength, McQueen turned fashion into storytelling.

Although Sarah Burton and now Seán McGirr have carried the brand forward, McQueen’s personal depth and fearless creativity remain unmatched. His provocative shows — like Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victims — transformed pain into empowerment, redefining beauty through confrontation. Today, the brand has evolved, embracing a more commercial, modern direction, yet much of McQueen’s raw spirit has faded.

In my view, McQueen had a far greater impact during his lifetime. His vision was deeply personal, revolutionary, and alive — a legacy that remains, even if its soul has changed.
