"Drenched In Time"

What if the soul of a fishing village shimmered on your skin?

To celebrate Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, we present “Drenched in Time”: an upcycled garment inspired by the city’s origins as a small fishing village and thus, its deep-rooted connection to water.

Our design reflects this history through reworked clothing echoing traditional fisherman workwear, crafted from discarded materials from a surplus Uniqlo raincoat. Resin and embroidery provide a contemporary twist on an old theme. The stiff, “wet look” aesthetic embodies the fluidity of water, frozen in motion.

Each element challenges conventional ideas of fluidity and function, honoring the tension between nature and architecture. This project bridges past and present through sustainability, textile manipulation and reinterpretation.
